고양특례시의회 '고양시1기신도시용적률상향조정등을위한특별위원회'(위원장 김희섭, 이하 특위)가 주민과의 소통을 강화하고 실효성 있는 정비 방안 마련을 위해 활동기간을 연장했다.
특위는 3일 집행부 업무보고 및 주민간담회를 개최하고, 이어진 제4차 회의에서 활동기간을 기존 2025년 12월 31일에서 2026년 6월 30일까지 6개월 연장하기로 의결했다.

이날 간담회에는 도시혁신국장과 신도시정비과장을 비롯한 집행부 관계자들이 참석해 고양시 일산신도시 정비기본계획 관련 추진 현황과 향후 계획을 상세히 보고했다.
김희섭 위원장을 비롯한 특위 위원들과 주민대표들은 그간의 추진 사항에 대해 질의하고, 향후 사업 진행 과정에 반영됐으면 하는 의견을 자유롭게 나누며 소통의 시간을 가졌다.
활동기간 연장은 선도지구 및 그 외 지역의 재건축 사업이 성공적으로 추진될 수 있도록, 보다 실효성 있는 정비 모델을 마련하기 위한 결정이다.
특위는 향후 추가적인 자료 수집과 현장방문, 시민과의 지속적인 소통을 바탕으로 모범적이고 발전적인 1기 신도시 정비 방향을 도출해 나갈 계획이다.
김희섭 위원장은 "오늘 간담회는 시민 여러분의 목소리를 직접 듣고 함께 고민할 수 있는 뜻깊은 자리였다"며 "특위는 연장된 활동기간 동안 더욱 실질적이고 지속가능한 1기 신도시 정비 방안을 마련하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.
