고양특례시는 지난 8일 농협대학교 운동장에서 ‘제20회 고양특례시 농업인의 날 화합 한마당’ 행사를 성황리에 개최했다.
이날 행사에는 이동환 고양특례시장을 비롯해 지역 국회의원, 도의원, 시의원, 농업 관련 단체 대표와 농업인 등 800여 명이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.

한국농촌지도자 고양특례시연합회가 주관한 이번 행사는 고양특례시 농업 발전에 헌신해 온 농업인들의 노고를 격려하고, 지속 가능한 미래 농업의 가치와 농촌의 중요성을 되새기기 위해 마련됐다.
행사에서는 한 해 동안 농업 발전과 지역사회에 기여한 농업인을 선정해 ‘고양시 농업인대상’을 수여했다.
수상자는 ▲식량·특용작물 부문 황선수 씨 ▲원예작물 부문 김진구 씨 ▲축수산·친환경 부문 김숙배 씨 등 3명이다.
풍물 공연을 시작으로 농업인 참여 마당, 줄다리기, 행운권 추첨 등 다채로운 프로그램이 펼쳐져 농업인들의 화합과 즐거움을 더했다.
또한 떡메치기, 도자기 목걸이 만들기, 열무김치 담그기, 장미꽃청·고추장 만들기 등 체험 부스도 운영돼 시민들과 함께하는 축제의 장이 됐다.
이동환 고양특례시장은 “기후변화, 가격 불안정, 인력난 등으로 농업이 큰 도전에 직면해 있지만, 고양의 농업은 스마트팜과 친환경 농업 등 새로운 기술을 통해 위기를 기회로 바꾸고 있다”며,“앞으로도 농업이 지속 가능한 성장 산업으로 발전할 수 있도록 정책적·행정적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다
