이번 행사는 진천군 체육회가 주최하고 문백면 체육회와 문백면 이장협의회가 공동 주관해 진행됐다.
걷기 행사는 농다리 잔디광장에서 개회식 이후 진행되며, 걷기 코스는 농다리→미르숲 야외음악당→미르 309 출렁다리→하늘다리→농다리로 되돌아오는 약 3.5km 코스다.
특히, 이번 걷기대회에는 충북 체육고 학생들 약 100여 명도 참여했으며, 지난 9월 부임한 홍석영 교장은 제46회 문화축제 길놀이 참여 등 다양한 활동으로 지역사회와 활발하게 교류하고 있다.
김상노 회장은 “문백면 체육회 창립기념 걷기대회가 주민들이 한자리에 모여 소통하고 화합하는 장이 돼 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 문백면 체육회가 모두가 건강하고 행복한 문백면을 만드는 데 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.
이경희 문백면장은 “주민들과 함께 할 수 있는 자리를 마련해 주신 진천군 체육회, 문백면 체육회, 문백면 이장협의회 분들께 감사드린다”며 “앞으로 문백면 행정복지센터도 주민들이 함께 즐길 수 있는 다채로운 행사를 마련하겠다”고 말했다.
