【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=대한적십자사봉사회 옥천군협의회는 지난 8일 옥천읍 일원에서 지역 내 취약계층을 위한 주거 환경 개선 봉사활동을 실시하였다.
이날 소속 봉사원 60여 명은 자력으로 주거 환경 관리가 어려운 취약계층 가정을 직접 방문하여 주택 내·외부 환경 개선 활동을 펼쳤다.
봉사원들은 주방 및 화장실 청소, 실내 폐기물 정리 등 사람의 손길이 필요한 곳을 꼼꼼히 정리하며 주거 환경 개선에 힘을 쏟았다.
김성근 회장은 “지역사회의 따뜻한 이웃이 되고자 헌신해 주신 봉사원 여러분께 깊이 감사드린다”며 “앞으로도 소외된 이웃들이 보다 나은 환경에서 생활할 수 있도록 지속적인 봉사활동을 이어나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
