【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=국립금오공과대학교 선주인문사회연구소(소장 송지혜)가 지역 역사와 문화의 체계적인 발굴·조사를 위해 구미시와 학술교류 협약을 체결했다.

지난 10일 구미 금오산에 위치한 구미성리학역사관에서 열린 협약식에는 박영일 구미시 문화체육관광국장을 비롯한 시 관계자와 송지혜 소장, 이규철 부소장, 허선애 교수 등 연구소 관계자들이 참석했다.
양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 △공동 학술조사 및 연구 △학술행사 공동 기획·개최 △전시·교육·문화 사업 협력 △학술자료·간행물 등 정보 및 전문인력 교류 등 다양한 분야에서 협력하기로 했다.
특히 국립금오공대의 학예 분야 전문 인력을 활용한 관학 협력은 개관 6주년을 맞은 구미성리학역사관의 인문학 사업 활성화는 물론, 양 기관의 경쟁력 강화에도 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
송지혜 선주인문사회연구소장은 “이번 협약을 통해 연구소의 학술 인프라가 구미의 소중한 문화자산과 결합해 큰 시너지를 낼 것으로 기대한다”며 “지역학의 현대적 가치를 재조명하고 시민들에게 수준 높은 인문학 교육과 전시를 제공할 수 있도록 긴밀히 협력하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 선주인문사회연구소는 1993년 ‘선주문화연구소’로 출범해 약 35년간 구미·선산 지역의 역사와 전통문화를 연구해 온 전문기관이다. 2025년 3월 사회과학 분야까지 연구 영역을 확대하며 현재 명칭으로 변경했으며, 지역 연구의 종합 거점 기관으로 역할을 넓혀가고 있다.
현재 전국 단위 편집위원회를 구성해 학술지 '선주논총'을 발간하고 있으며, 지난해 12월에는 ‘경북, 인문사회학에 묻다: 시대와 삶의 새로운 시선’을 주제로 정기학술대회를 개최한 바 있다.

Geumosan in Gumi, was attended by city officials, including Park Young-il, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Gumi City, as well as institute officials such as Director Song Ji-hye, Deputy Director Lee Gyu-cheol, and Professor Heo Seon-ae.
Through this agreement, the two institutions agreed to cooperate in various fields, including joint academic surveys and research, joint planning and hosting of academic events, cooperation in exhibitions, education, and cultural projects, and the exchange of information such as academic materials and publications, as well as professional personnel.

Meanwhile, the Seonju Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences is a specialized institution that launched in 1993 as the ‘Seonju Cultural Research Institute’ and has been researching the history and traditional culture of the Gumi and Seonsan regions for approximately 35 years. In March 2025, it expanded its research scope to include the social sciences and changed its name to its current form, and is broadening its role as a comprehensive hub for regional research.
Currently, a national editorial board has been formed to publish the academic journal 'Seonju Nonchong', and in December of last year, a regular academic conference was held under the theme 'Gyeongbuk Asks Humanities and Social Sciences: A New Perspective on the Times and Life'.
