경북교육청이 인공지능(AI)과 메타버스 등을 활용한 디지털 대전환으로 미래교육에 박차를 가한다.

경북교육청은 오는 2022년 인공지능 교육 선도학교를 53교에서 91교로 대폭 확대하고, 메타버스 선도학교 5교와 인공지능 교육 연구학교 2교도 신규 선정해 운영한다고 밝혔다.
인공지능 교육 선도학교는 창의융합형 정보교육실 구축교와 컴퓨팅 사고력 증진을 위한 교육활동 모델교로 나눠 공모하며 총 17억 3천 여 만원의 예산이 투입된다.
메타버스 선도학교 및 인공지능 교육 연구학교는 총 3억의 예산이 투입된다.
인공지능 선도학교와 메타버스 선도학교는 내년 1월 중 공모를 통해 2월 중에 선정되며 인공지능 연구학교는 12월 선정된 구미 해마루초등학교와 청송중학교가 2개월 간의 준비기간을 거쳐 내년 3월부터 본격적인 운영에 나선다.
이와 같이 도교육청은 미래교육의 방향을 디지털 기술의 습득과 활용에서 융·복합 사고를 통한 창의적인 문제해결력 증진에 중점을 둘 계획이다.
송기동 부교육감은 “미래교육이 디지털 기술의 습득과 활용에만 매몰되지 않고, 학생들이 주체적이고 비판적 사고를 키워갈 수 있도록 디지털 대전환을 통해 경북형 미래교육의 모델을 창출하겠다”고 밝혔다.
