브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 더불어민주당 당대표 출마를 선언한 설훈 의원은 18일 "이재명 의원이 당 대표가 되면 분열이 일어난다는 게 일반적인 시각"이라고 밝혔다.
5선의 설훈 의원은 이날 오전 CBS라디오 '김현정의 뉴스쇼'에서 "만일 이재명 의원이 대표가 된다면 분열이 심화할 것인데 1년 반 뒤 총선을 어떻게 치르겠느냐. 총선이 실패하게 되면 대통령 선거도 실패할 것"이라며 이같이 말했다.
그는 "당이 친이재명, 반이재명으로 나뉘는데 저는 당내 의원들 중에는 반명에 속하는 사람들이 더 많다고 본다"면서 "그래서 이걸 그냥 두면 당이 심각한 혼란에 빠질 것"이라고 주장했다.
이어 그는 "지금은 이재명 의원이 좀 쉬어야 된다. 지켜보면서 자기 실력을 키우는 게 필요한 때라는 게 대부분 의원들이 갖고 있는 입장"이라며 "그런데 본인은 당이 위기이기 때문에 자기가 정리하겠다는 입장인데, 그건 상당히 잘못된 판단"이라고 했다.
설훈 의원은 또한 이재명 의원이 '공천 학살은 없을 것'이라고 밝힌데 대해 "당 대표 출마하는 사람이 계파 공천하겠다고 하겠나. 말은 그렇게 하지만 결과는 그렇게 안 나올 가능성이 굉장히 강하다"라며 "개딸이나 이런 사람들이 주장하는 것을 보면 그것은 학살 수준이 아니고 뭐든지 하겠다는 입장이다. 수박들 다 박살 내야 한다는 시각"이라고 지적했다.
