희망브리지 전국재해구호협회(회장 송필호)가 한화손해보험(대표 강성수)과 함께 재난 피해 위험에 노출돼 주거환경 개선이 필요한 대전 지역 가정들을 찾아가 집수리 봉사를 펼쳤다.
희망브리지와 한화손보는 지난 17일 대전 서구의 재난 위기 가정 7곳에서 도배‧장판을 새로 하고, 화재경보기를 설치했다.
한화손보 직원 13명과 희망브리지 57명 등 70명이 이번 집수리 봉사에 참여했다. 집수리 봉사 시간만 500~1,000시간이 넘는 희망브리지 봉사단 소속 자원봉사자 10명이 멘토로 참여했고, 2015년부터 집수리 봉사에 참여한 한화손보 직원들도 5명에 달했다.
봉사자들은 한 조에 10명씩, 7개 조로 나눠 대전 서구청에서 추천한 도마 1~2동, 내동의 재난 위기 가정 7곳을 찾아, 곰팡이가 핀 낡은 벽지와 장판을 걷어내고 장판과 바닥재, 형광등을 교체했다. 지난 2004년 이사 이후 도배를 새로 한 적 없이 벽지에 곰팡이 핀 상태에서 생활해 온 한부모 가정, 거동이 불편한 60~80대 홀몸 가정, 시각장애인 가정, 집중호우에 따른 침수 가정 등이 새로운 모습으로 탈바꿈했다.
희망브리지와 한화손보는 집수리와 더불어 각 세대에 연기 감지 화재경보기를 설치했고, 10만원 상당의 이부자리도 선물했다.

희망브리지 김정희 사무총장은 “대전 서구는 지난 2020년 정림동 코스모스 아파트가 밤사이 내린 많은 비로 침수돼 구호 활동을 했던 곳”이라며 “코로나19 장기화로 도움의 손길이 미치지 못했던 이웃들의 보금자리를 깨끗하게 바꿀 수 있어 기쁘다. 특히 화재경보기 설치로 어르신들이 안심하고 거처에서 지낼 수 있게 돼 마음이 한결 놓인다”고 말했다.
