고양시와 기아(주)가 지난 22일 고양시청에서 도시·기업 브랜드 강화 및 사회공헌을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.
협약식에는 이동환 고양시장과 권혁호 기아(주) 국내사업본부장, 고양문화재단 대표이사 등이 참석했다.

이번 협약안에는 고양시와 기아(주)간에 △ 도시·기업 브랜드 강화를 위한 공동사업 발굴 및 추진 △ 어린이, 청소년 및 소외계층을 위한 다각도의 공동사업 발굴 및 추진 △ 고양시 어린이박물관 전시실 개편 및 홍보 공동추진 등 다양한 상생협력 내용이 담겨 있다.
특히, 고양문화재단과 기아(주)는 고양어린이박물관 2층에 있는 “안녕? 지구!” 전시실을 개편하여 전기자동차 EV6를 기반으로 친환경에너지 및 환경보호 비전과 합치되는 자연친화적 환경 콘텐츠를 조성할 계획이다.
이동환 고양시장은 “미래 모빌리티 사업을 선도하는 기아와 업무협약을 맺게 되어 기쁘다. 공공성을 기본으로 행정을 넘어 경영이 필요한 시대에 고양시와 기아가 협력하고 발전하는 계기가 되길 바란다.”고 밝혔다.
