충남도정 정책을 심의·자문하는 ‘제3기 충청남도 지속가능발전위원회’가 출범했다.
도는 15일 도청 외부접견실에서 김태흠 지사와 위원 20여 명이 참석한 가운데 제3기 충청남도 지속가능발전위원회 위촉식을 개최했다.
충남 지속가능발전위원회는 도의 지속가능발전 정책에 대한 심의·자문 기구로, 이번 위촉식과 함께 제3기 위원회가 본격 활동에 들어갔다.
위원회 역할은 △지속가능발전 기본 전략 및 추진 계획 수립·변경 △조례·행정 계획의 지속가능성 검토 △지속가능발전 관련 정책 의견 제시 등이다.
위원은 도의원, 대학 교수 등 전문가, 시민사회단체 관계자 등 20여 명이며, 임기는 2년이고 2회 연임할 수 있다.
이 자리에서 김 지사는 제3기 위원회의 새로운 출발을 축하하면서 “지속가능발전은 우리의 책무이기도 하지만 기회라고 볼 수도 있다”라며 “수동적으로 끌려다니기보다는 능동적이고 적극적으로 대응해 새로운 성장동력과 기회를 찾아내야 한다”라고 강조했다.
또 “석탄화력발전소가 밀집한 도가 ‘탄소중립 경제 특별도’를 선포하고 에너지 전환과 산업 재편을 선도해가는 것이 그 대표적인 사례”라면서 “지속가능발전이란 개념과 철학이 도정에 확실히 뿌리내리도록 위원회가 방향을 잡아주시길 부탁드린다”라고 말했다.
이어 도청 중회의실로 자리를 옮겨 진행한 제1차 임시회의에서는 제3기 위원회의 조직을 새롭게 구성했고 한순금 지속가능발전센터 연구위원의 ‘지속가능발전 목표와 행정’ 주제 발표를 토대로 다양한 의견을 나눴다.
