보호 청소년의 건강한 성장과 사회 정착을 지원을 위한 ‘23년 상상 RESTART 장학금’ 기탁식이 14일 있었다.
KT&G장학재단은 이날 ‘23년 상상 RESTART 장학금’ 기탁식을 갖고 한국소년보호협회에 장학금을 전달했다.
‘상상 RESTART 장학사업’은 생활태도가 모범적인 무의탁 소년원 재·출원생 중 학업지원이 필요한 학생들을 선정하여 학습지원비, 생활장학금 등을 지원하는 사업이다.
2016년 시작된 본 장학사업을 통해 현재까지 404명의 청소년들이 자립을 위한 학업과 기술 교육을 지원받았다.
한국소년보호협회는 협회가 관리하고 있는 청소년과 전국의 소년원 재·출원생 중 해당사업과의 적합성 등을 심사해 100여명을 선발하고 연말까지 총 5,000만원의 장학금을 전달할 계획이다.
장학금은 검정고시, 자격증 취득, 중·고·대학생 생활지원, 취업준비 등 사업별 목적에 맞게 사용된다.
안홍필 KT&G장학재단 사무국장은 “‘상상 RESTART 장학사업’은 복지 사각지대에 놓인 보호 청소년들에게 사회 적응에 필요한 교육과 정착 지원을 하는 프로그램”이라며, “앞으로도 도움이 필요한 청소년들이 보다 안정적인 환경에서 다시 새로운 꿈을 꿀 수 있도록 다양한 지원을 아끼지 않을 것”이라고 밝혔다.
