충남도가 24일 충남도서관에서 내포신도시 순환버스 개통식을 개최하고 내포신도시 일대를 순환하는 친환경 전기 저상버스 가동을 본격 시작한다고 밝혔다.

순환노선에 투입하는 차량은 전기 저상버스 2대로, 장애인·노인 등 교통약자에 대한 배려와 탄소중립 실현을 위해 투입됐고, 운영은 홍주여객과 예산교통이 각각 맡았다.
용봉산을 기·종점으로 삼아 홍주여객은 1000번과 1001번을 달고 내포신도시를 시계 방향으로, 2000번과 2001번을 단 예산교통 버스는 시계 반대 방향으로 운행한다.
운행 노선은 1000·1001번의 경우 대학삼거리, 삽교주민센터, 덕산중고등학교, 한울공원사거리 등이며, 2000·2001번은 대학삼거리, 덕산중고등학교, 삽교주민센터, 충남보건환경연구원, 내포혁신플랫폼 등이다.
1000번과 2000번은 오전 7시∼8시 30분, 오후 5시∼8시 출퇴근 및 등하교 시간대 하루 5회씩, 1001번과 2001번은 오전 9시∼오후 4시 30분 사이 6차례씩 운행한다.
