세종시와 서울시가 손잡고 특별한 동행을 하기로 했다.
최민호 세종시장은 오세훈 서울시장과 10일 세종시청에서‘상호 교류 강화를 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다.
세종시와 서울시는 2016년 3월 우호교류 협약을 체결했으며, 이번 협약은 민선8기 출범에 따라 교류 강화의 필요성이 높아지면서 양 도시 간 상생발전을 가속화하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 협약으로 각각의 도시가 추진 중인 주요 사업 사례를 공유하며 개선점 도출을 촉진하는 것은 물론, 사업 내용 교류로 협력에 나서게 된다.
세종시는 ▲사이버 보안산업 육성 ▲정원도시박람회 개최 및 정원도시 조성 ▲한글사랑 및 한국문화예술 발전 ▲인재개발교육 교류 등을 서울시와 협력하게 된다.
서울시는 ▲고향사랑 기부제 활성화 ▲도시 디자인정책 확산사업 ▲ 폐기물·건물·신재생에너지분야 공동 협력을 통한 탄소중립 달성 등을 세종시와 협력한다.
협약 후 최민호 세종시장은 서울시를 위한 고향사랑 기부금을, 오세훈 서울시장은 세종시를 위한 고향사랑 기부금을 전달하며 향후 양 도시 간의 긴밀한 협력을 약속했다.
협약에 따라 세종시는 서울시와 7가지 분야를 중심으로 협력에 나설 계획이다.
수도로서 오랜 역사를 가지고 있는 서울시의 우수한 도시발전 정책 비결이 세종시와 공유돼 한발 더 미래전략수도로 도약하는 계기가 될 것이라는 것이 시 관계자의 설명이다.
