포스코DX, 포항 앞바다에서 해조류 이식 활동 펼쳐

【브레이크뉴스 포항】박희경 기자=포스코DX(대표 정덕균)는 소속 임직원들로 구성된 블루카본봉사단이 지난 주말, 포항시 청하면 이가리 일대 해안에서 해양 환경개선을 위한 해조류 이식 활동을 펼쳤다고 16일 밝혔다.

포스코DX 블루카본 봉사단은 한국수산자원공단 동해지사와 협력해 수심 10m 지점에 곰피 등 해조류를 이식하는 활동을 펼쳤다. 이날 활동은 수온 상승과 해양 오염 등의 영향으로 해조류가 사라지고 있는 ‘갯녹음 현상’을 해결하기 위해 기획된 것이다.

블루카본 봉사단은 스킨스쿠버 활동이 가능한 포스코DX 직원들의 재능기부로 이루어지는 것으로 해양환경 정화하기 위해 오염 물질을 수거하고, 해조류 이식 등의 활동을 펼치고 있다.

한편, 포스코DX는 한려해상국립공원사무소와 협력해 남해지역에서도 해상 정화활동을 추진하고, 해조류 증식에 참여해 탄소 흡수하는 ESG 경영을 적극 실천하고 있다.
