【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자= 동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 30일 포항공과대학교와 글로컬대학 성공적 수행을 위하여 ‘환동해 글로컬 연합 아카데미’ 운영을 위한 업무 협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

양 교는 이번 협약을 통해 ▲ 지역 전략산업 분야 인재양성을 위한 교육 및 인력 교류▲ 아카데미 운영을 위한 시설 및 유무형 자원의 상호 지원▲ 아카데미 운영 이외의 취창업, 지역 정주여건 개선 등 연계 사업 협력 등을 협력한다.
이영경 동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스총장은 “지역 발전의 핵심적인 두 가지 축은 환경과 문화로, 환경은 인간이 살아가는데 필요한 여건이고, 문화는 인간의 정신적인 부분이다.”라고 설명하며, “동국대학교 와이즈캠퍼스는 지역의 환경, SMR와 이차전지 등 산업 수요에 맞는 인재 교육에 매진하고, 포스텍은 연구중심대학으로 지역 산업 발전에 중추적인 역할을 하며 양 대학이 서로 협력 발전하여 지역 혁신을 이끌어가도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 지난 3년간 융합대학 신설, 지역산업 연계 학과 신설, 교육의 탈캠퍼스화 등의 대학의 내·외부 벽허물기 등의 대학혁신전략을 추진해 왔으며, 산학협력 허브 역할을 통해 지역 혁신과 발전을 이끌 ‘글로컬대학 30’을 추진하고 있다.
