최민호 세종시장이 20일 폭염·폭우·태풍 등 여름철 자연재난 발생에 대비해 철저한 안전점검을 주문했다.
최 시장은 이날 열린 간부회의에서 “올 여름 슈퍼 엘니뇨 등 급격한 기후이변 발생에 따라 예측하기 어려운 폭염·폭우·태풍발생이 우려된다”라며, 취약지역에 대한 긴급안전진단과 철저한 대응태세를 유지해야 한다고 강조했다.
이어 “모든 재난·재해는 사소한 위험요소를 가벼이 본 데서 시작된다”라며 “잠재된 위험요소를 꼼꼼히 살피고 정확히 진단해 필요시 재난관리기금 및 예비비를 과감히 투입하는 등 빈틈없이 대비하라”라고 지시했다.
특히 급경사지를 포함한 재해위험지역 안전점검, 재난대비시설물 점검·정비, 취약계층 안전관리 등 분야별 재해예방에 최선을 다하고 비상대응체계를 철두철미하게 유지해야 한다고 덧붙였다.
최 시장은 불볕더위가 지속되고 있는 만큼 폭염취약계층을 위한 세심한 폭염대책의 중요성에 대해서도 언급했다.
무더위쉼터 및 그늘막, 마을회관 내 냉방기기 등 정상작동여부를 점검하고 상황관리에도 주의를 기울여야 한다고 주문했다.
최 시장은 최근 관내 어린이집에서 발생한 구성원 간 분쟁과 관련해 “어린이 보호가 최우선”이라고도 강조했다.
최 시장은 “보육공백이 발생하면 가장 피해를 보는 사람은 원아들인 만큼, 보육공백 우려를 해소하고, 원아들에 대한 안정적 보육을 최우선 순위로 철저히 지도·점검하라”라고 말했다.
