국가철도공단이 수서∼광주 복선전철 2개 공구 건설공사를 6일 발주했다.
공단에 따르면 이번에 발주된 수서∼광주 복선전철 사업은 2·3공구는 기존 고속철도선 및 분당선 등 열차가 운행하는 선로에서 공사가 이루어지기 때문에, 공간적.시간적 제약조건을 해소하고 효율적인 사업추진을 위해 모든 분야(노반, 궤도, 시스템 등)를 통합해 설계·시공 일괄입찰 방식으로 추진하는 것이 특징이다.
공단은 내년에 실시설계 적격자 선정후 2025년 실시설계 완료 및 착공에 나서 2030년 완공을 목표로 추진할 것으로 알려졌다.
또, 수서∼광주 복선전철 사업이 완료되면 서울(수서)에서 강릉까지 1시간 22분, 부산 부전까지 3시간 3분, 경북 문경까지 1시간 만에 도착이 가능할 것으로 봤다.
서울 강북(서울, 청량리) 중심의 철도서비스를 강남(수서)지역으로 확대함에 따라 지역에서 수도권으로 접근성이 향상될 것으로 기대했다.
