희망브리지 전국재해구호협회(회장 송필호)는 가수 싸이가 수해 이웃을 돕기위해 성금 1억원을 기부했다고 17일 밝혔다.
싸이는 희망브리지에 “현재 집중 호우로 피해를 입은 모든 분들께 깊은 위로를 전하고 싶다”며 “하루빨리 일상으로 돌아갈 수 있도록 조금이나마 도움이 되기를 마음으로 기부하게 되었다”고 전했다.
싸이는 지난 2017년 포항 지진을 비롯해 2019년 강원 산불 등 크고 작은 재난이 발생할 때마다 피해 이웃을 위해 1억 원을 기부하는 등 꾸준히 나눔에 동참하고 있다.
이번 기부를 통해 희망브리지 개인고액 기부클럽인 희망브리지 아너스클럽의 회원이 된 싸이는 ‘앞으로 재난 피해 이웃을 위한 나눔 활동에 더욱 힘쓰겠다’는 포부를 밝혔다.
희망브리지 김정희 사무총장은 “재난 피해 이웃을 위해 기부에 동참해 준 싸이 님에게 감사하다”며 “희망브리지는 지난 13일부터 재난안전상황실을 가동해 신속하게 대응하고 있으며, 하루빨리 이재민들이 일상으로 돌아갈 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
