“재난취약계층의 시원한 여름을 응원해요!”
희망브리지 전국재해구호협회(회장 송필호)는 여름철 폭염에 노출된 재난취약계층 1만4700명에게 손선풍기 등으로 구성된 폭염 대비 키트인 ‘시원한 여름날’을 한국사회복지협의회 전국푸드뱅크와 한국노인종합복지관협회를 통해 전달한다고 21일 밝혔다.
‘시원한 여름날’은 사회복지기관 관계자 등 사전 현장의 수요조사를 통해 열냉각 시트, 쿨 스카프, 손 선풍기, 부채, 홑겹이불, 모기 기피제, 마스크, 모기퇴치 밴드, 보디 물티슈, 텀블러, 분말형 이온 음료, 유산균, 과일청, 마스크 등 총 14종으로 구성되었다.
지원 대상은 폭염 피해에 특히 취약한 어르신과 노숙인, 장애인, 쪽방촌 거주자 등이며 ‘시원한 여름날’은 사회복지시설 70여 곳을 통해 이들에게 지원된다. 희망브리지는 앞으로도 폭염 대비 키트 지원을 확대할 계획이다.
희망브리지 김정희 사무총장은“폭염으로 인한 열사병과 열경련 등 온열질환은 소리 없이 많은 사상자를 내는 매우 무서운 재난”이라며 “사회복지시설을 이용하고 있는 재난취약계층 분들이 폭염 대비 키트를 통해 안전하고 건강한 여름을 보내시길 바란다”라고 말했다.
