4일 영덕군에 따르면 우리동네살리기는 오래된 소규모 주거지역에 생활 편의시설과 공동이용시설을 확충해 정주환경 개선, 도시경관 개선, 골목 활성화, 주거약자 지원 등을 꾀하는 도시활력 사업이다.
영덕군은 이번 공모사업을 준비하는 과정에서 2018년 영덕군 도시재생 전략계획 수립, 2019년과 2021년 도시재생대학 개최, 2022년 영덕읍 도시재생 예비사업 등 꾸준히 주민 의견수렴을 바탕으로 계획을 수립했으며, 두 번의 공모사업 도전 끝에 최종 선정됐다.
이번 공모 선정으로 영덕군은 2024년부터 2027년까지 영덕읍 남석리 일원에 집수리 지원, 노후 골목길 정비, 주차장 정비·확충, 만드소센터 조성, 주민 역량강화 등의 사업에 국비 50억 원 포함 88.5억 원의 예산을 투입하게 된다.
