성균관대학교 의과대학 삼성서울병원의 홍경표 명예교수가 저술한 “길 잃은 나의 조국”이 재출간(개정판/도서출판 오래)됐다.
홍경표 교수는 이 책의 재출간에 대해 “이 책이 처음 세상에 나온 지 14년이라는 세월이 흘렀다. 그 기간 동안 품절된 책에 관한 출판 요청을 독자층으로부터 받은 바 없지 않았지만 때가 아닌 것 같아 이제껏 미뤄왔다. 저자가 과거 군의관으로 근무하던 부대에서 함께 복무했던 K중위와 최근 재회하여 <길 잃은 나의 조국> 책을 전하면서, 이 책에서 염려했던 대부분의 상황이 현재 진행 중이라는 사실을 새삼 느꼈다”면서 “그리하여 나는 더 늦기 전에 이 책을 다시 출간하여야겠다는 마음을 정했다. 더욱이 국가 채무의 심각한 증가와 출산율의 무서운 저하는 머지않아 국가와 민족의 존폐를 위협하는 시점에 이르렀다. 나의 사랑하는 사해형제(四海兄弟)가 자신의 위치에서 무엇을 생각하고 무슨 행동을 하여야할지 이 책을 통하여 돌이켜보기를 바라는 마음”이라고 강조했다.
저자 홍경표 교수 소개
저자는 1954년 1월 15일(음력) 태어나 경기고등학교와 서울대학교 의과대학을 졸업했다. 서울대학교병원에서 수련하였으며 캐나다 알버타대학병원(에드먼턴) 및 영국 웨스트민스터병원(런던)에서 연수했다. 한림대학교 교수와 미국하와이대학교 방문교수를 지낸 바 있다. 성균관대학교 의과대학 삼성서울병원에서 교수를 역임했다. 현재 동 대학 명예교수로 있다. 다른 저서로 ‘선조의 지혜’(2021)가 출간됐다.

“My Lost Homeland,” written by Professor Emeritus Hong Kyung-pyo of Samsung Seoul Hospital, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine, has been republished (it has been in print for a long time).

Introduction to the author, Professor Kyungpyo Hong
The author was born on January 15, 1954 (lunar calendar) and graduated from Gyeonggi High School and Seoul National University College of Medicine. He trained at Seoul National University Hospital, the University of Alberta Hospital (Edmonton), Canada, and Westminster Hospital (London), England. He has served as a professor at Hallym University and a visiting professor at the University of Hawaii. He served as a professor at Samsung Seoul Hospital, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine. He is currently a professor emeritus at the same university. ‘Wisdom of Ancestors’ (2021) was published as another book.
